Young Roma Leaders Participate in Third Training Program (2006)

The Regional Centre for Minorities, in cooperation with the Swedish Helsinki Committee, organized a training program for Young Roma Leaders in Belgrade on September 27th-28th, 2006.

The aim of this project was to provide advanced training on Human Rights and advocacy to young Roma who have the potential to become important sources for the development of their community. Twenty young Roma from Western Balkan (Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Kosovo and Macedonia.) participated in this training.

Before September 2006, two similar training programs had been conducted by the Swdish Helsinki Committee. The third program for the young Roma leaders was a continuation of the previous events and was based on Human Rights issues, as well as on specific problems and needs relevant to their countries. The first day focused primarily on International Human Rignts: legislation and jurisprudence“ and the second day's topic was „Organization of Managment“.
