Support for the World March for Peace and Nonviolence
Sarajevo, Oct 29, 2009 - Several persons from Sarajevo's social and cultural scene – singers, rock bands, actors, writers, representatives of the civil sector - expressed their support for the World March for Peace and Nonviolence.
Following are some of their statements of support.
• The Emir & Frozen Camels and myself fully support everything related to peace and nonviolence. EFC is a band that already has the "Peace" sign in its logo, and I was honoured ambassador of the World Peace Marker Project several years ago. We wish success to the organizers of the march from all our hearts.

• I raise my hand in support of the World March for Peace and Nonviolence. Join the people from all over the world, preserve your humanity and dignity and don't allow human stupidity to lead us, as they say, to nuclear holocaust. Spread the love around.

• I am glad that the very name of the project used a militant term – the march – and totally reversed its meaning – for peace and nonviolence. Just as we can, through simple positive action, destroy the negative that surrounds us. Activity and only activity, especially activities that make us, even for a short period of time, a part of the world, of the bigger picture, in the company of happier and smarter people...
Nela Đenisijević-glumica
• The band Skroz fully supports the project of the World March for Peace and Nonviolence and all similar activities that promote peace, nonviolence, social progress, negate all forms of discrimination and raise awareness on active nonviolence. We believe it is important that such a march will pass through our city and we hope that as many citizens as possible will support the project.

• The Kids Festival supports peace and tolerance and all activities that contribute to better future for the youth of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Therefore, a big thanks to the organizers and the idea to organize the World March.

• In the natural and social catastrophes of all kind, it is children that suffer the most. In the wars of the 20th and 21st century, in BiH, Rwanda, Sudan, Palestine, Iraq, Afghanistan, children graves are most numerous. All peace movements, like this March, are small contribution of people with good intentions to make the world more peaceful and more beautiful. May this year’s March for Peace and Nonviolence push the international community and local leaders to replace arms with olive branches.
Jovan Divjak, „Obrazovanje gradi BiH“
• While being aware that peace marches can change little - even the smallest steps towards peace, a step that would maybe save a single innocent child's life somewhere in the world; that would shorten a war by a single minute, hour, or day - is a success for the World March for Peace and Nonviolence. I join the march with bitter memories of the children and innocent people that suffered in the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the hope that our children, all over the world, will have better future.
