New Homes for Roma from Mošćanica
Sarajevo, Oct 26,2009 - A delegation of Stari Grad Municipality (Sarajevo), including Mayor’s advisor Ismet Hadžić, Chief of Mayor’s Cabinet Aida Bajramović, deputy Head of Property and Cadastre Office Nevzeta Mulalić and deputy Mayor for social and healthcare, refugees and IDPs Rešad Jusupović, presented, on October 26, 2009, the keys and contracts to six Roma families from Mošćanica, who were able to move into their new homes.
The construction of the building for the six Roma families started in September 2009. All works were conducted in accordance to highest standards so that the six families were able to resolve their housing problem before the coming of the winter. The project was financed by The Canton of Sarajevo and Stari Grad Municipality.
Also, the Municipality, in cooperation with the Red Cross Sarajevo and Soup Kitchen “Stari grad”, donated aid packages to the citizens of Roma settlement Mošćanica. Remza Čoko, Secretary of Mošćanica Community, presented all families with aid packages containing clothing for adults and children, and they all received big food packages donated by Soup Kitchen "Stari grad".
